Kerrygold Cheeses

FEATURED ITEM: Kerrygold Cheeses

The Irish Dairy Board was established in 1961 to band together a handful of small dairy farms throughout Ireland and harness their collective expertise. That fateful year resulted in the creation of the Kerrygold brand, a premium line of all-natural, grass-fed cheeses and butters crafted all across Ireland but sold under one brand name.

These hormone-free cheeses and butters are now available in over 80 countries. The company still relies on independent dairy farmers to supply the finest all-natural milk in the world.

Try these Kerrygold Cheeses in the cheese department at Roche Bros.:

Dubliner Cheese
Complex, worldly, somewhat sweet and somewhat nutty. Kerrygold’s Dubliner Cheese is a robust aged cow’s milk cheese with a bit of a hard texture similar to a Cheddar. In one bite you can taste the diversity of flavors – from nutty to sharp to sweet – that can only come from a natural cheese made from the milk of grass-fed cows. This cheese works beautifully served alongside a full-bodied wine like Cabernet, a freshly pulled pint of Guinness, or simply melted between a few slices of crusty brown bread.
Dubliner is now available in a new format: convenient, cracker-size slices for healthy, good-tasting snacking choices.

Aged Cheddar
Thirteen centuries ago, aged cheddar cheese was made by monks. Today Kerrygold uses the same attention to detail and the same naturally abundant land to create a 21st century version of this holy grail of Cheddar cheese.
Aged Cheddar is a pasteurized, grass-fed cow’s milk cheese that is aged for one year and undergoes a stringent grading process as it matures. Only the best-tasting cheese makes it through, resulting in Cheddar that is rich and full-bodied with a smooth finish. Slice it up with warm apple pie or make it part of a wine and cheese pairing.

Aged Cheddar with Irish Whiskey

This rich and creamy Aged Cheddar has undertones of the smooth, woody and nutty taste of pure Irish Whiskey. With both ingredients a part of the traditions of Ireland, this combination is a great addition to a party cheese platter.

Swiss Cheese
In the grasslands below the Rock of Cashel in County Tipperary, Ireland, roam some of the happiest herds of grass-fed cows in Ireland. These pastures were first discovered by the Munster kings and have been nearly sacred ground ever since.
These fields provide the richest, creamiest grass-fed cow’s milk for Kerrygold’s 100% natural Swiss Cheese. This gourmet Swiss is aged over 90 days to enhance the delicate nuances that give it its signature sweet, nutty taste.

Skellig

Kerrygold Skellig is a creamy, full-flavored Cheddar imported from Ireland. As with all Kerrygold cheeses, Skellig is an all-natural cheese, produced with milk from grass-fed cows that graze on the green lush pastures of Ireland. Rich, tangy and sweet, this cheese is crumbly and savory, with a butterscotch-like sweetness. Skellig is ideal for cooking, making cheese sauces or as the centerpiece of your next cheese board.
