Simplify your grocery shopping by taking one main ingredient and using it three ways! Today, we’re featuring sirloin steak. Visit our meat department and take home a big sirloin steak or a few smaller ones, depending on the size of your crowd, and you’ll be ready to use it three times.
Day 1: Pan-Seared Sirloin with Roasted Vegetables
Season steak with salt and pepper and rub with olive oil. Pan-sear it for 5 minutes on each side for medium rare. Drizzle the steak with a red wine reduction. It’s easy to make! Combine minced shallots and red wine in a pan and bring it to a boil. Turn to a simmer and reduce for about five minutes. Season to taste and serve. Pair your steak with roasted asparagus or Brussels sprouts, and a baked potato.
Day 2: Steak Salad with Arugula and Feta
Slice up some of the leftover steak. Use it to top an arugula salad. Add pomegranate seeds, Narragansett Creamery Salty Sea Feta, sliced avocado and toasted almonds. Top with a simple, homemade balsamic vinaigrette, made with 3 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar, 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard, 1 minced garlic clove, ½ cup of olive oil, and salt and pepper to taste. Save time by using your favorite salad dressing from the grocery aisle.
Day 3: BBQ Steak Sandwich with Caramelized Onions
Take the last of the steak sliced for a hearty sandwich. Cover the meat in barbecue sauce, top with caramelized onions and serve on a bulky roll. Add a side salad or chips to round out the meal.
