A healthful and meaty white fish, our Boneless Wild Caught Haddock Fillets are just right to serve for dinner during Lent.
This versatile, flaky fish is caught here in New England by our fresh fish partner, Foley Fish, off of fishing boats in the Georges Bank, which runs from the northern tip of Cape Cod to the southern tip of Nova Scotia. Because of its distance from shore, the waters are exceptionally clean and fish thrive in this pollutant-free environment.
They also thrive because the Georges Bank area is rich in nutrients. Two currents converge at the banks providing Georges Bank fish with a superior diet. The relatively shallow water (30-40 fathoms) allows the fish to better see and capture its food. The end result is fish that is meaty and delicious to eat.
This mild fish can be served so many ways and used in any recipe that calls for white fish. Dip it in egg, coat it with bread crumbs and herbs and bake it in the oven. Or give it a little kick and color with a blend of spices, such as onion powder, paprika, garlic powder, cayenne and salt and pepper, dot it with butter and broil it. Just add lemon wedges and a side of sautéed greens and dinner is served!
