This month, a tavern in Buffalo, N.Y., celebrated the 50th birthday of Buffalo-style chicken wings.
As the story goes, one March night in 1964, Teressa Bellissimo, who owned Anchor Bar along with her husband Frank, created the wings at the request of her bartender son, Dominic, when a group of his friends were hungry while having drinks at the bar late that night.
She cut up chicken wings, deep fried them and covered them hot sauce. She served them with blue cheese dressing and celery on the side, and voila! Buffalo chicken wings were born.
A half-century later, Our Kitchen’s Buffalo Chicken Dip is a fun and popular take on the original concept. Loaded with tender chunks of white meat chicken, and topped with a flavorful blend of Mexican cheese on top, this creamy and spicy dip belongs on the table when you’re watching the game or just waiting for dinner to get ready!
