Ingredients

  • 2 cups water
  • 1 tart apple
  • 3 cups fresh cranberries
  • 1 1/4 cups sugar
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground cloves

DIRECTIONS

  1. In a large saucepan, combine all ingredients. Bring to a boil over high heat, then reduce to low and partially cover the pan.
  2. Let simmer gently for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until sauce thickens.
  3. Transfer sauce to a heatproof bowl and let cool for 1 hour.
