Place the pork shins into the bottom of a slow cooker. Pour the tomato sauce, sugar, soy sauce, sake and garlic into a bowl, stir until the sugar has dissolved. Pour the mixture over the pork shins. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours.
