Brunch For Dad

By Berit Bancroft June 11, 2018

Kick off your Father’s Day celebration with brunch for dad at home. The wide selection of Stonewall Kitchen pancake mixes and syrups in out grocery aisle make it easy to cook up tart and tangy cranberry-orange pancakes, rich and decadent double chocolate pancakes and more. Top your light and fluffy breakfast with complementary syrups, from Maine Maple to Cinnamon Apple. And serve with smoky Roche Bros. Bacon on the side.

Layer up a local hand-boiled, hand-seeded and hand-flipped Finagle a Bagel with Ducktrap Smoked Salmon fit for a king — sourced through their own farms and then brined and smoked – plus whipped cream cheese, slices of avocado and crisp romaine lettuce. Serve up slices of our Signature Quiche and Pecan Sticky Buns to go with it.

Wake dad up for the big day with Green Mountain Coffee, iced or hot. This coffee is about the personal relationships with its farmers. The coffee is tasted and evaluated up to seven times before it reaches your cup. Their green coffee beans are carefully stored in burlap or jute bags to preserve their flavor, dryness and integrity. And they test the beans to help ensure their quality before they are roasted.

Top 5 Things Dad Wants to Eat on Father’s Day

By Dena Zigun June 03, 2017

It’s Father’s Day this Sunday, and that means it’s time to thank dad for everything he does for you all year round!

Here are our top five ways to treat dad with food (and drink):

1) Special cuts of meat

This Father’s Day, we are offering the finest Certified Angus Beef® brand Angus beef available in special thick cuts. Select beef, boasting incredible flavor, tenderness and juiciness in every bite.

2) Oysters, lobster and more seafood

Fresh, succulent seafood will wow dad with every bite. Display a beautiful selection of oysters from all over New England.

This shellfish is a special element of any meal, no matter how you serve them. Dad will love them raw, with lemon, shallot vinegar, cocktail sauce or hot sauce.

Or fry up a few oysters to serve on top of steak. For other Surf and Turf pairings, consider a Chef-Ready Lobster Tail or large, grilled shrimp.

3) Potatoes, any way you slice them

Serve dad’s favorite potatoes on the side. After all, meat and potatoes are a classic match. Mash them, fry them or turn them into homemade chips.

Add some color and a bit more veggie to the plate. Show dad your skills on the grill by grilling up asparagus, zucchini and other summer produce!

4) A hearty breakfast

Let dad sleep in a bit while you make breakfast! Fry up some eggs, and serve with avocado and salsa. Make them sunny-side up, with hash browns and bacon. Take home pancake mix from Stonewall Kitchen and make golden pancakes with maple syrup, or enjoy a quiche, straight from our kitchen.

5) A cold drink

Start the day off with iced coffee and finish it by offering dad a glass of red wine to go with his steak or a local New England beer.

(Stop by Roche Bros. in Norton, Sudbury, Westwood, Marshfield, Wellesley and Downtown Crossing for your beer and wine selections.)

We wish everyone a Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Roche Bros.!
