Ingredients
- sour cream, cheddar cheese, chopped fresh cilantro, sliced green onions and/ or lime wedges (optional garnish)
Directions
- In large saucepot, cook beef over medium-high heat 5 minutes or until browned, breaking up beef with side of spoon; with slotted spoon, transfer to paper towel-lined plate.
- In the same saucepot with drippings, cook jalapeños and white onion over medium heat 5 minutes or until tender-crisp, stirring occasionally. Add chili powder, cayenne pepper, cumin, paprika, salt and black pepper; cook 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Increase heat to medium-high. Add beer; cook 3 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add tomatoes with their juice, bay leaves and broth; heat to a simmer. Reduce heat to medium-low. Add beans, and beef; cook 25 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Remove and discard bay leaves. Makes about 12 cups.
- Serve chili garnished with sour cream, cheese, cilantro, green onions and/or lime wedges, if desired.
